General Directions

Langhorne is located in Lower Bucks County, Pennsylvania, about 30 minutes north of center city Philadelphia.  The church is located within a couple of miles of I-95/295 and the PA Turnpike.  US 1 is within a few hundred yards of the church.  For customized directions, contact Dick Stove (see above).

FOLLOWING IS THE SEQUENCE OF THE KEY GATHERINGS/ACTIVITIES FOR THE POTE MEETING:

     Friday, September 23, 2022 (at the church):  

  • Check-in begins at 12:00 noon. 
  • Pre-Presbytery Business/Special Event meetings:
  • Prayer Gathering:  On Friday, September 23, from 12:00-12:30 p.m., there will be a pre-Presbytery prayer gathering at the host church that will be conducted by TE Brad Moger (Bellevue EPC).  A room will be identified upon arrival. 
  • Other Gatherings.  Information to be provided in a subsequent update.
  • Business Meeting (begins at 1:00 p.m.), immediately followed by the Worship Service (with Communion and an offering for the Seminarian Fund).
  • Note: There will not be a Fellowship Dinner on Friday evening at the church.  After the Worship Service, attendees will disperse to local restaurants of their choosing for their evening meal.  A list of local restaurants will be provided in a subsequent meeting update.

Saturday, September 24, 2022 (at the church):  Continental breakfast, Business Meeting (beginning at 9:00 am), and “Make Your Own” box lunch.  

HOTEL RESERVATIONS:  The following number of rooms have been set aside under the church’s contract with the Sheraton Bucks County-Langhorne;  5 rooms for Thursday night (September 22), 40 for Friday night (September 23), and 5 for Saturday night (September 24).  The rate for a room with two beds is $149.  This price may change once the block of rooms has been reserved.

MEALS

Saturday’s continental breakfast and “build your own” box lunch will be held at the church and reservations can be made via the link below under “On Line Meal Reservations”, through the POTE website, and through the Langhorne EPC website are required for all Teaching Elders, Ruling Elder Commissioners, and Guests/Observers who opt to eat at the church.

Deadline for Meal Reservations (Saturday breakfast and lunch).

Deadline for meal reservations is 11:59 p.m., on Friday, September 9, 2022.  Please respect the need to make reservations by this deadline so the host church can accommodate everyone. The website for meal reservations will be disabled on the same date/time as the deadline for reservations, and no further reservations will be taken. Reservations cancelled after this date must be paid to the church by the person that made the reservation.

Breakfast (Saturday morning) - $10 per person

  • Cooked oatmeal, variety of dry cereals and milk, bagels and cream cheese, bread for toast, jams, fruit, yogurt, water, coffee, and teas.

Lunch (Saturday) (eat in or to go) - $8 per person—build your own lunch from:  

  • Trays of hoagies and wraps (including veggie), chips, fruit, and drinks.  The church will provide zip lock bags, napkins, plates, condiments, and paper bags.

NURSERY AND CHILD CARE: Langhorne EPC, the host church for the 126th Stated Meeting, is offering nursery and child care during the meeting on September 23-24, 2022.  Following are the details:   

  • Nursery for ages 0-4 and childcare 4-8. 
  • Friday 9/23: Childcare & children’s programs Noon-6pm; Nursery: Noon until end of worship service (approx. 7:30pm); you can come any time within those times to drop off, pick up, and interact with your children
  • Saturday 9/24: Childcare AND Nursery 9am until 1pm (or whenever the business meeting ends)

**You will need to provide any special snacks, diapers, change of clothes, wipes, formula, bottles/sippy cup or any other unique items your child may need.**
